The Stay Standard Of Defining Right Type Or Left Type
Generally, stay shapes of right type and left type are symmetrical so that they can be easily installed as one unit. But conditions may vary depending on the installation method. To prevent misuse and order correctly the stay right type and left type is described briefly.
Basic stay right type and left type
The basic stay right type and left type is defined by the following conditions.
- Box for top cover opening/closing
- Stay arm is folded to the deeper side
- Top cover opening/closing is viewed from the front
Considering the above, we call the stay the right type when it is installed on the right side and we call the stay the left type when it is installed on the left side.
There will be no problem if the stays are installed with the basics in the figure but you must be careful of the following cases.
When stay arms are folded to the front
The right type and left type is reversed to the basics in the figure so you must call the stay the left type when it is installed on the right side and you must call the stay the right type when it is installed on the left side.
When stays are installed on the outside of the box
The right type and left type is reversed to the basics in the figure so you must call the stay the left type when it is installed on the right side and you must call the stay the right type use when it is installed on the left side.
Front cover opening / closing box
However, the following products are exclusive for front cover opening/closing box so you must call the stay the right type when it is installed on the right side and you must call the stay the left type when it is installed on the left side regardless of the shape of stay.
Installation of door stay
The following products are suitable for doors in structure especially heavy iron-made doors: B-25, B-450, B-1450 and B-1451. These stays can be installed for both left type and right type. B-450 and B-1450 can also be used for canopies and B-25, B-1451 and B-1456 can also used for front covers. B-1456 is the right type or left type.
Installation of window stay
The window stays are mostly used for ships (boats) and structures. These are specified viewed from the inside of a structure, i.e. you must call the stay the right type when it is installed on the right side and you must call the stay the left type when it is installed on the left side.
